Life In Tenerife
Life in Tenerife is probably one of the most diverse places a person can vacation on and live at for not only the holiday seasons but all year round. It has all the allure and seduction for a perfect holiday, night life, and day time activities for not only families but for singles and couples.
The Northern and Southern part of the island are quite different from one another when it comes to style and appearance. The northern part is known for its lush vegetation and rocky coast line. The strong Canary Island traditions are coupled together with a stylish and very sophisticated and unique night life. Even though the southern part of the island has a desert terrain, it has very lively and energetic sandy beaches that give an uninhibited night life experience. It also offers glamorous bright lights throughout and an overall cosmopolitan appearance. The interior part of the island is just as appealing as the other parts. There are giant Banana plantations, beautiful Almond orchards and magnificent Pine forests that will take your breath away.
The capital of Tenerife, Santa Cruz, is surrounded by elegant old buildings, stunning botanical gardens and boutiques. The street café’s found through out the city make for very pleasant days, are always worth it to stop at. The best way to see and travel around the island is by hire car. Hiring a car gives the option of going anywhere you want, anytime you feel like it.
Tenerife is home to the volcano, Mount Teide, which just happens to be the highest point in Spain. When this dormant volcano is capped with snow, many have said it is a site that is hard to forget. Looking similar to surface of the moon, the surrounding landscape has been used as a film location for record breaking movies; Planet of the Apes and Star Wars are just a few filmed on-site.
In order to get to the best and most breathtaking spots throughout the island, a cable car runs throughout the day to take you there as well as the near by islands of La Gomera and La Palma. Not only does the nightlife allure and entice, the day time there offers so many choices, anyone will feel like royalty no matter what outing is taking place or where you choose to stay.
The year round climate is one of the best in the world that Tenerife is able to offer various and exceptionally catered activities. Water sports, such as diving, surfing, as well snorkeling, sailing and fishing are some of the best to take part in. The activities found on land are just as exciting and eccentric. Some of the activities that can be found are tennis, hiking and full golf course.
If you feel you would just like to relax while taking in some rays, there's plenty of glorious relaxing beaches with safe swimming areas. Children and adults alike will love them. The island also insures and promotes safety in the water by having warning flags located throughout the main beaches. Red flags mean: strong currents do not swim.
