Airports Located in Tenerife
There are two main international airports in Tenerife. The Los Rodeos Airport is located in the northern part of island in the town of La Laguna, where as the Sofia Reina airport, is in the southern part of the island close to El Medano. Both of these airports have all the luxuries of any other International airport. When booking a flight to Tenerife, make sure you select the airport that is closest to the apartment, hotel, or villa you will be at because if you don’t then expect to pay more than 90 Euros for a taxi or a two hour bus ride.
Cheap Airlines
Keep in mind that many cheap airlines have appeared which only fly from “regional” airports. These companies have cheaper tickets but most often you will be sacrificing comfort for a lower cost and many of the airlines do not offer an in flight movie. When using these airlines it is best to bring a book along with you.

Some sites will advertise cheap rates by the excluding airport taxes. Ticket prices will increase at times drastically once the VAT and appropriate taxes.
